Many clients ask me what type of newborn session is best for them. While both studio and in-home sessions have their pros and cons, in-home sessions will always be my favorite as a Whitefish Bay newborn photographer! There is nothing like bringing your first baby home! It’s a special time that is so incredibly short and fleeting; lets document it!
I met this sweet family at their home in Whitefish Bay just 10 days or so after they brought their baby home! It was a dreary day, which made it unique from other recent sessions that I’ve done. When I first started as a newborn photographer, this may have thrown me for a loop. In fact, I used to reschedule sessions for clients if it was too dark outside! Now, I have an entire lighting set-up that I bring to sessions, which allows me to get beautiful indoor light no matter how dreary it is outside! Clients can never even tell which photos are natural light and which are ones I take with flash!
This newborn session lasted about two hours, which is typical for most of my sessions. I give plenty of time for baby to take nursing breaks and for everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable!
We messaged back and forth about outfit choices for this mama before her session, and I love what she chose! Her classic white dress is the perfect choice for a timeless and clean editing style. As a Whitefish Bay newborn photographer, I do give plenty of style guidance to my clients! I also offer a guide for how to prepare (and even have a few free tips on my blog!)
