As a Cedarburg family photographer, I recently had the honor of working with a wonderful family who has called this charming town home for the past four years. With a big move to Des Moines, Iowa just days away, they wanted to capture some of their last memories in Cedarburg. Especially in the places that have been central to their life as a family of three. Their 9-month-old son has spent his first precious months in Cedarburg. As they embark on a new adventure, they wanted photos that would forever remind them of the special moments and places that made this town their home.
We started our session in downtown Cedarburg exploring some of their favorite spots. The day began near the Chocolate Factory and Amy’s Gourmet Apples (two of my own favorites also!). We took photos over at the iconic Cedarburg Roastery, where they’ve spent countless mornings sipping coffee and enjoying the cozy atmosphere. It was heartwarming to capture their connection in a place that has brought them so much joy.
From there, we strolled along the peaceful path by the river, a spot they’ve often visited to unwind and reflect. The sun was just starting to set, which added a magical touch to the photos. We danced to toddler tunes (what else would you expect during a family session?) and their little guy did so amazing the entire time!
Before we wrapped up, we stopped by their home, located just a mile from downtown. Their home has been the heart of their family life. It was important to capture a few shots outside, with the house standing as a reminder of where their story in Cedarburg began. The photos of the three of them in front of their home felt especially meaningful. They symbolized both the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
These photos will not only remind them of their time in Cedarburg but also of this significant stage in their family’s journey.
