2019 is wrapping up! There was a lot of change and growth in my business this year, but one thing remains the same, and that is that I LOVE to photograph maternity and newborn sessions! Being a maternity photographer and a newborn photographer gives me life, and after trying weddings, seniors and other types of sessions, it is what I love! This Cedarburg maternity session was a dream!
1. Make sure you ask the photographer about the time of day. Certain times of day will work better based on the buildings being on the east and west sides of the street.
2. Plan for something fun to do after your session! There are so many great places to go around Cedarburg. I actually grew up in the neighboring town of Grafton, so I know the area quite well! Some of my favorites are:
The Chocolate Factory in Cedarburg for ice cream, especially if you have the kids along!
Cedarburg Coffee Roastery – the most adorable local coffee shop!
For brunch, if you do a morning session, consider PJ Piper Pancake house. You get great portions and it’s awesome brunch!
3. Make sure you consider festivals and other events to avoid those time frames
I was thrilled when Jen and Pete reached out to me to photograph this time of their lives. Not only because I love these sessions, but because I just love Jen! (Pete, you’re pretty cool too! We just hadn’t met yet! 🙂 ). Jen and I used to work together. She’s a physician and I had the opportunity to assist in a few of her clinics. She does such a great job and always made me feel like a friend in addition to a coworker.
We had a really fun session! it was cold, but you’d never know they were super bundled up between photos! Downtown Cedarburg is the perfect backdrop for maternity session photos around Christmas time, because it is just beautiful with all the wreaths, bows and garland! It really is the perfect backdrop for photos if you can manage to avoid all the people on the street. I had so much fun capturing the love these two have for each other, and also for their baby girl who will be arriving in just a few months! Can’t wait to meet her. She’s lucky to have you as parents, Jen & Pete!
Enjoy some of my favorites from your session!
**Quick side note on the images below. If it wasn’t for Pete, I would have gotten run over by a car during these shots! I was standing in the parking lane and a car almost backed up right into me without looking behind them! I had my face in my camera. Thanks for looking out, Pete!
