This weekend I got to experience a new first in my photography business….shooting a pirate party! IT WAS AMAZING! Sarah had dreamed up the idea of doing a party every 5 years with her family and closest friends, and this is the first of them! When Sarah asked me to photograph this event, I knew it would be a good time since she is an event planner at Harmonious Union Events and it certainly did not disappoint! Every last detail was thought of from the drinkware, to decor and costumes.
Though the event was spectacular in that it was planned meticulously, it was made even better by the people there and the heart behind it. This party celebrated Kevin & Sarah’s 30th birthdays, 10 years of being together, and their 5 year wedding anniversary. This is the 2nd event I have shot for their family, and just like the first, I was welcomed in like family. Kevin, Sarah & their families have a way of making people feel so comfortable, and are some of the most genuine people you will meet!
Kevin gave an incredibly heart-warming speech where he spoke about how he proposed to Sarah (in a Zorro costume!!!), and the life events that they’ve shared up to this point, ending with telling the crowd that “Sarah is the only pirate booty I’ll ever need”. Haha!
You two are such a joy to be around, and I love how these photos capture the joy that you share and love for life that you have! Thank you SO much for letting me be part of another amazing Davidson celebration!
