So excited to share this blog post of Nik & Bryan’s BEAUTIFUL Wisconsin winter wedding! I met these two around this time last year when I did an engagement session giveaway and they were my winners! Of all the people that could have won, I’m so thankful it was them! We met for a snowy engagement session earlier this year and I enjoyed getting to know them and hearing their story about how Bryan’s grandpa played matchmaker at his nursing home where Nik worked <3
I’d be hard-pressed to find two people who are more relaxed, kind and family-oriented as these two. Even though I was at their wedding to take photos, I truly felt like a friend and was treated like one by everyone there! Nik & Bryan really love people, and you can tell that they are well-loved by the HUNDREDS of people at their wedding! It was a breath of fresh air to be around them, as it was obvious that their love for each other, family, and friends was more important than the small details of the wedding day. They voiced excitement to start a family together. They embraced grandparents and made a note to tell me how important it was to get photos with them. AND they didn’t have stress or nerves on their wedding day – they were just excited to be married!
The day started at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Slinger where we successfully kept the bride and groom separate until the ceremony. I always have to laugh at the girl’s getting ready room filled with shoes, makeup, clothes, and other miscellaneous items compared to the guy’s room which was just a table with some water and a bag of cheetos 😉 Pretty typical! I had a great time hanging out with the women, getting to know them and capturing their excitement! One of the highlights was when Bryan asked me to bring Nik a gift – a pair of BEAUTIFUL earrings, and a HANDMADE scrapbook filled with notes and evidence of all of their adventures together! I think he made everyone in the room cry (good job, Bryan!). It’s so fun to see all the places they have been and things they have done, and to know that going forward they get to do it all together!
I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from the day, and that you can feel the love in the photos and get a small glimpse into their day!
Congrats, Bryan & Nik! I wish you both the best! Thank you so much for giving me the honor of capturing this day for you. The significance of that is not lost on me, and I’m very grateful to have been there. <3 Hope God crosses our paths again in the future!
