It was such an HONOR to be able to shoot Ashley & Andy’s wedding day! Ashley and I have known one another since elementary school, and it’s pretty crazy to think that we would go from trading fuzzy Lisa Frank stickers out of our trapper-keeper binders to now standing here watching her get married to Andy! 😉
Andy and Ashley had a super intimate wedding day. It was a relaxing vibe in the getting-ready room with only her sisters and mom there as well as the hair stylist extraordinaire (Hello Brunette MKE) who gave Ashley an awesome Hollywood glam look. It didn’t really surprise me that everything was so relaxed, especially since Andy and Ashley are some of the most laid-back people you will meet, but it definitely made for a relaxing and intimate wedding day!
Andy and Ashley opted for a “First look” which is something I’d HIGHLY recommend to brides! Not only do you get to spend some one-on-one time together before the ceremony, but it gave us plenty of time after for a lot of AWESOME portraits, as well as time to get some of the family photos done so that they can do spend time with their friends and family after the ceremony, which is what they’re there for! Loved how sweet both of their reactions were here 🙂
During the day, we were trying to keep Ashley away from her dad because he wanted his own first look, but we had a surprise run-in during portrait time! Thankfully the surprise still happened, just not in the way that we had planned! And, Ashley was obviously super gracious about it!
I remember Ashley telling me that one of the only planning things that Andy really cared about was the food at the wedding! Their reception was at Blue’s Egg in Shorewood and it was definitely delicious food!! It made me a happy 7 month pregnant wedding photographer 😉
Andy & Ashley- THANK YOU for trusting me with your wedding photos!! It was a fun time for me, especially as I’m not taking on as many weddings anymore! You two are exactly the type of friends and clients I want to work with: laidback, loving and people who care more about your relationship and time with family/friends than you do about the details of the wedding day. It was a joy to be there with you the whole day, to see your excitement about your marriage, and to witness the beginning of your love story <3
Love you guys.
